Sponsorship & Fundraising Volunteer
Reports to: Crystal Awards Gala Chairs
Time Commitment: 2–4 hours per week (August–May, with increased time in peak months)
Duration: Until event completion
Overview:
As the Sponsorship & Fundraising Committee Lead, you will play a critical role in the success of AMA Houston’s 40th Anniversary Crystal Awards Gala by securing financial support from sponsors and donors. You will work closely with the gala planning team to help develop compelling sponsorship packages, identify partnership opportunities, build relationships with local and national brands, and ensure all sponsor deliverables are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and refine sponsorship package tiers and benefits
- Identify and research potential corporate sponsors, partners, and donors
- Create outreach strategies including email, phone, and in-person meetings
- Assist sponsorship pitch meetings when needed and follow-up communications
- Ensure accurate tracking of sponsorship commitments and in-kind donations
- Collaborate with marketing to ensure sponsor recognition across digital, print, and event materials
- Coordinate with event production and logistics to fulfill sponsor deliverables
Provide regular progress updates and fundraising reports to the Gala Chair
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent communication and persuasive writing skills
- Confidence in outreach and relationship-building
- Previous experience in fundraising, sponsorship sales, or marketing is a plus
- Organized, proactive, and deadline-oriented
- Team player who can lead and motivate others
- Ability to think strategically and creatively
